Celebration Pizza

I had a delicious dinner, once again, at Il Cane Rosso last night! But it was more of a celebration night!

Happy Birthday Staci!

We tried to have a fun surprise birthday dinner for her, but it didn’t really work out so well. Trying to plan a surprise on a person’s actual birthday – doesn’t work so well. Although it wasn’t a surprise, dinner was delicious per usual at Il Cane Rosso.

Dinner started with a salad and pizza’s to split!!

First was the Bianca. A white pizza with simply topped with mozzarella di bufala, basil, sea salt, and extra virgin olive oil.

Next up was the “secret menu” Honey Badger. Hot soppressata, basil, and a spicy and flavorful habanero infused honey drizzled over the top.

Whoever says you can’t top pizza with honey is wrong. It was delicious and unique! I would definitely order than again on a return visit!

The final pizza we split was called the Paulie Gee. Cane Rosso’s light and airy crust had a tomato base, with fresh mozzarella, hot soppressata, caramelized onions, basil, and calabrian chiles. We light our pizza spicy! Unfortunately the pizza eluded the camera, so no picture! 🙁

But if you want more pictures of Cane Rosso’s delicious pizza creations, look here, then here!

What’s next on my cooking agenda? Well, after that Thanksgiving feast, I’m needing some light and healthy food in my life! From my pinterest browsing, I think I may have my hand at some healthy chicken salad wraps or some baked vegetable egg rolls. I guess we’ll just see what I find at the grocery store today!
